Hello, Stackswap Community,
Our commitment to building on Stacks and contributing to blockchain technology remains constant as the overall Stacks ecosystem finds paths to develop and expand. There are also exciting developments coming our way after the Taproot update on the Bitcoin layer, and as we prepare for the Nakamoto release on Stacks, we are also making sure to keep tabs on possible new horizons on EVM.
However, taking this step to EVM requires the input of our community as it is a drastic direction we would be branching out to.
To address this, we will be creating a governance vote for the community to decide the terms on which Stackswap will be expanding to the Ethereum Virtual Machine.
This will include the decision for EVM expansion and transfer rates of Stackswap’s ERC-20 and SIP-010 tokens. We greatly appreciate any input from our users through our official social media channels found at the bottom of this Medium article.
Points to be discussed:
- To vote on proposals before or after the upcoming Bitcoin Halving Event
- Active Voting period (Starting and Ending block numbers for casting governance votes with vSTSW)
Voting “No” to the proposal will mean voting to hold the upcoming votes after the Bitcoin Halving Event.
The move to EVM represents a strategic move to diversify and strengthen our blockchain capabilities. However, this decision must be made with the consensus and understanding of our community. The timing of the vote related to the Bitcoin halving will impact StackSwap’s overall strategy. By participating in this process, we hope that Stackswap’s future direction is aligned with the collective vision of our community members.
We look forward to your active participation in important decision-making processes and your valuable input.
